Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Second Story Consignments
1. What types of items do you accept for consignment?
We accept gently used or new clothing (seasonally based), accessories, shoes, toys, and baby/toddler items. Larger furniture and certain vintage items may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. All items must be clean and in good condition.
2. What are your seasonal clothing drop-off periods?
- Spring/Summer clothing: February – July

Fall/Winter clothing: August – January
Please drop off clothing during these times to ensure acceptance.
3. How long are my items consigned?
Items are displayed for 120 days. After this period, unsold items will either be returned, donated, or you can choose to donate them earlier.
4. How are sales and payouts handled?
The payout percentage depends on the final sale price:
- $1–$49.99: 40% to consignor
- $50–$99.99: 50%
- $100–$199.99: 60%
- $200 and above: 70%
You can choose payout options: cash, bank transfer, or store credit. Opting for store credit provides an additional 10% bonus.
5. When will I receive my payout?
Payouts are processed within 14 days of the sale, via your selected method.
6. Can I pick up unsold items?
Yes, you can request to have your unsold items returned before the 120-day period ends. After that, items are donated unless you specify otherwise.
7. What happens to items after 120 days?
Unsold items will be donated:
- Baby and toddler items: Donated to It Takes A Village
- All other items: Donated to Creekside Community Outreach Center
8. Do you accept clothing year-round?
No, clothing is accepted seasonally. Spring and summer clothing are accepted from February to July, while fall and winter items are accepted from August to January.
9. Are all items inspected before sale?
Yes, all items are reviewed for condition, cleanliness, and appropriateness before being accepted for consignment.
10. Can I sell vintage or specialty items?
Vintage and specialty items may be accepted at the discretion of the shop. Please contact us if you have specific items you wish to consign.
11. How do I get involved?
Bring your items during the designated drop-off periods (seasonally based). Complete a consignment agreement form at drop-off, and we will handle the rest!
